Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to see a physiotherapist?

No. You can book directly without a GP referral for most conditions. A referral is only required if you are claiming under Medicare’s Enhanced Primary Care (EPC/CDM) plan or WorkCover.

Do you accept NDIS participants?

Yes. Burwood Physio is a registered NDIS provider. We accept plan-managed, agency-managed and self-managed participants. Contact us to discuss your plan and goals before your first appointment.

Is parking available at the clinic?

Street parking is available on Victoria Street East and nearby side streets. Westfield Burwood car park is also a short walk away. The clinic is easily accessible via Burwood Train Station (3-minute walk) and multiple bus routes.

How long does a first appointment take?

Initial assessments are typically 60 minutes. This gives your physiotherapist time to properly assess your condition, identify the cause of your problem, and create a personalised treatment plan.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Bring any relevant imaging (X-rays, MRI reports), your Medicare or health fund card, any referral letters from your GP, and wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the affected area.

Can I claim on my private health insurance?

Yes. We have HICAPS on-site so you can claim your private health rebate on the spot. Bring your health fund card to your appointment.
